This web-page provides information about plans for Madaba Plains Project excavations at Tall Hisban in Jordan, to be carried out between May 31 and July 15, 2007. The principal institutional partners in this endeavor are Andrews University, Oklahoma State Univeristy and Union College. This web-page provides information for people who might be interested in joining the project.
The focus of our research at Hisban continues to be the Islamic centuries, in particular the Mamluk governor's palace area and the Ottoman cave village. Planning for a Cultural and Environmental Heritage Center at Hisban will also continue, as will the collaboration with the local schools using Hisban as an open-air classroom.
